Cancer poses one of the greatest medical and social challenges of our time. More than 12 million cases are diagnosed each year, 200,000 of them in Spain.
And the incidence of the disease is growing every day, mainly because of the steady increase in life expectancy. Its currently anticipated that one in three people will develop the disease at some point in their lives. However, recent advances in cancer research make us optimistic. The first step is to convert, by means of less aggressive treatments, the most troublesome types of cancer into chronic diseases, and attain that the patient can enjoy a good quality of life. The next is to cure the cancer, a goal to be achieved in the not too distant future, as alleged by Dr. Jose Baselga. Help us achieve it!
